"Great pack for the money." 2010-07-04By
rickatplayI was a little leary of the price of this pack but it got good reviews so we took the plunge. We've taken it out on some camp hikes (couple day jobs) and these packs held up very well. We fit everything in the pack with room to spare and yet the pack was not a burden to carry. An outfitter friend of mine checked them out and said he was really impressed with how well they were built and the material. "You'll NEVER rip this material" was his comment. I'd like the zippers to work smoother but considering I'm saving at least $100 on a simliar pack, they are fine. I love the external pockets (which a lot of pricier packs don't have). I bought 2 and I'll probably buy another.

this back is made OK no issues, what is a problem is the fact the suspension system is not that great. It will adjust which is good BUT it is very hard to get the wight off your shoulders with the way the waist belt is made the lumber pad does not work at all it is just a lower back pad not really helping I just walked with it for an hour with 30 lbs in it OK will not kill me the TETON Sports Explorer 4000 Internal Frame Backpack same price range is much much better

EricWe originally bought very expnsive backpacks for our trip to Europe from an outdoor store and quickly returned them when we saw this one online. It was 1/3 the price and ended up working out very well.
"Surprisingly Lightweight" 2010-06-10By

Not only is this bag lightweight, but it is spacious as well. Somehow I imagine all travel backpacks are bulky and heavy, but it is not always the case. I was able to squeeze 3-day worth of clothing including a pair of jeans, a Swiss knife, a sunscreen, a first-aid-kit, four emergency thermal blankets, a compass, and a can of drink in the external side pocket where there are two of them, so you can actually put two bottles or cans there. Two bottles might not be enough for a long hiking trip, but keep in mind you can put some more in the bag. I estimate there is space for at least four or five 16.9 fl oz bottles and certainly some energy bars. I believe you can also stick a sleeping bag on the outside as well. I'm not sure if this backpack is suitable for a professional expedition; I think it most likely isn't, but it is perfect for amateur day-hikers and campers.

The very trip out the water bladder fell through the bottom of the pocket. It wasn't stitched very well. After 4 e-mails and pictures included they agreed to take it back for replacement or give me 10 dollars credit. Like it would be possible to have someone fix it for 10 dollars. Other than the above problem it packed nicely, carried nicely and the outside seems very durable.
