Slip resistant bottom works pretty well; it is not suction so my daughter can still pull it up and flip it, but when she pulls food from the plate it stays still. The curved frame makes it easy for her to scoop food into her hands. Overall, I like the plate, but have to say it isn't a necessity.

This plate is really cute and it is a lot harder for my toddler to pick up than other plates (aka a lot harder to throw or to dump food out of), but the sections for food are really shallow. You can't get a lot of food onto it and for a big guy like I have, his meals are a lot bigger than this plate can accommodate. We use it for snacks and such.

I purchased two of these plates, one for my toddler and one for her older sister. The plate is small so it is more ideal for toddlers. The compartments are also a little too shallow, but it is fine when using with finger type foods - to be picked up. But, we still use it pretty much every day. The blue color is beautiful - suitable for both girls and boys.
